Good XXX, everybody. Today I am very happy to have the opportunity to talk about some of my ideas about ‘the teacher’s role in the classroom’. I am going to talk about the topic from the following parts.First, I am the designer of the activities. I should be based on the overall goal of the course and the teaching content, the creative design is in line with the teaching content and accord with the actual teaching activities so that I can attract and organize their active participation.Second, I am an organizer. When designing the classroom teaching activities, one should play an important role, is the activity organizer. Jeremy Harmer, an American linguist said, ’ one of the most important role that teachers have to perform is that of organizing students to do various activities’.Third, I am a prompter. In a class, there may be some shy and timid students. They are afraid to join in the classroom teaching activities. And there is another situation, as the students to master the vocabulary is too small, this brought them some problems to join in the activities. This time I should play a role of the prompter. I should give the shy students confidence and creative an effective method to encourage them to join in the activities actively. But for the students who are short of vocabulary ,besides encouraging, I will give them some help with languages.Fourth, I am a participant. In some teachers’ classroom teaching, while students are in dialogue or group activities, they were just watching, then made the evaluation. However, in some activity the teacher single as an organizer and a bystander is not enough. Jeremy Harmer said，we might want to join in an activity not only as a teacher, but also as a participant in our own right. Teachers join in the students’ activities directly, teachers and students learn together. That will make the classroom atmosphere more active and interesting.Fifth, I should be a performer. In the primary classroom teaching , I am not only an excellent organizer but also an excellent performer. Christopher Crouch said，primary teachers are all performers in the classroom。

As a qualified performer, I have to play different roles.Finally, I am an assessor. The teacher should play an important role in the teaching, that is an assessor. Students are looking forward to the teacher’s evaluation after they complete various activities. When we evaluate students, we should pay attention to evaluation of positive encouragement and motivation.That’s all. Thank you.。
