    • Lesson 22 The Giant (I) 一、语篇研读 What:本课语篇是一则童话故事,故事分上篇和下篇,本课为上篇主要讲解一个自私的巨人先后改变的故事首先他只想他自己,根本不会去关心他人他不想要孩子们在他的花园玩耍,并且把他们全部赶了出去在第二年的春天,他的花园被厚厚的雪覆盖,寒冷的风吹着,没有一只鸟儿出现……Why:通过接触“巨人”这一童话故事,让同学们对童话故事有一定的了解,体会文学的乐趣另外可以培养同学们的阅读能力,提高对英语学习的兴趣How:本课的语篇内容是“巨人”这一童话故事,主要内容为故事的细节在文章中大量运用过去进行时,让同学们对这一时态有一个更清晰的学习和认识例如文章中出现的One day the children were playing in the garden when a giant appeared. One morning as the giant was lying awake in his bed…等等二、教学目标通过本课的学习,学生能够:1. To read and understand the fairy tale2. To review Past Continuous Tense3. To learn some useful words and expressions 三、教学重难点重点:词汇:loud board awake musician perhaps 短语:once upon a time run away no longer keep…away pass by句型: One day the children were playing in the garden when a giant appeared.难点:通过阅读培养学生的阅读、推理、总结能力。

      四、教学过程【教学目标】1.To read and understand the fairy tale2. To review Past Continuous Tense3. To learn some useful words and expressions 【教学活动】1.Lead in(1).What is a fairy tale?A fairy tale is a story that often has characters like fairies, dwarfs, giants or mermaids.(2).Do you like reading fairy tales? Do you know any famous fairy tales? What are they?【设计意图】通过两个问题的形式导入新课,激发学生的兴趣,活跃课堂氛围2.New words and phrasesloud board awake musician perhapsonce upon a time run away no longer keep…away pass byOne day the children were playing in the garden when a giant appeared.【设计意图】通过学习本课的重点单词,短语和句子,可以更好的让同学们理解文章大意。

      3.Read the lesson and number the scenes in the correct order.【设计意图】通过浏览文章对句子进行排序,可以很好的培养同学们略读的能力,并且可以更好的把握文章大意4.Language points (1). Once upon a time, there was a large, lovely garden. 从前,有一个美丽的大花园once upon a time意思是“从前;很久以前”,这是讲故事常用的开头语类似的表达还有long, long ago, a long time ago等Once upon a time, there lived an old man who had two beautiful daughters. 从前,有一个老人,他有两个美丽的女儿 (2). They ran away and dared not come back.他们逃走了,不敢再回来run away 逃跑,走掉;逃脱The thief had run away when the policemen came.警察来时小偷已经跑了。

      There is a hole in my washbasin, and the water is running away.我的脸盆上有一个洞,水都流走了3). The green grass was covered with snow, and the cold winds kept the birds away.白雪覆盖着那青青的草地,寒风驱走了鸟儿keep away (使)离开(或不靠近)Please keep that dog away!请你把那条狗赶走!Let the children keep away from the fire.让孩子们离开火炉4). He though it must be the king’s musicians passing by.他认为可能是国王的乐师经过pass by 路过;经过;过去I passed by your house last night at about ten o’clock.我昨天晚上大约十点钟的时候经过你家Three years had passed by before she finally found a suitable job.三年过去了,她最终才找到一份合适的工作。

      5.Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words or phrases in the box.【设计意图】通过对语法知识点的学习,并且趁热打铁,做相应的练习题,可以很好的让同学们掌握本课的知识点6.Have a lookAre you familiar with these sentences?They are from the books we have learned.       在过去某一时刻正在进行的动作a) They were eating breakfast at 7:00 am yesterday.(b) I was writing a letter at this time yesterday.(c) Five minutes ago, Danny was looking out of the window and Suzy was reading a book.(2). 在过去某段时间一直在进行的动作a) From 1983 to 1998, he was teaching at Yale.(b) They were building a dam last winter.(3)过去进行时--句式(a) 基本结构:was/ were + verb-ing(b) 否定式:was/ were not + verb-ing was not = wasn’t were not = weren’t(c) 疑问句:将 was/ were调到主语前 结构为:Was/ Were + 主语 + verb-ing? 回答:Yes, 主语 + was/ were. No, 主语 + was not/ wasn’t. were not/ weren’t.【设计意图】通过对过去进行时的复习,可以让同学们对该语法知识点有一个更深刻的了解和认识。

      7. Complete the answers with the information given and find out who the criminal is in the story.【设计意图】通过以上找凶手的活动,首先练习本课重要的过去进行时这一知识点,其次可以激发学生学习英语的兴趣,活跃课堂氛围8.Summary五、板书设计六、作业设计1.巩固性作业(必做),课时作业,完成时长10分钟;Finish the exercises for this lesson.2.拓展性作业(必做),课时作业,完成时长15分钟;Preview the words and expressions in Lesson 23.3.探究性作业(选做),可设置为单元作业Fairy Tale Comic Strip: Write a short fairy tale in a comic strip style.
