5、s.This paper compares the changes of characters in their personalities in the novel, Little Dorrit, in the first and second part of the work. In the first part, the characters, when they are poor, are put around the Marsahlsea prison, the debtors prison. In the second part, they become rich, and the story about them is on the background of the social prison, the British society. Both of the two parts prove that they cannot break away from the cage of the capitalist society. In fact, Charles Dick
