Her stories focus on human relationships looked at through the lens of daily life. While most of Munros fiction is set in Southwestern Ontario and the Canadian Pacific Northwest, her reputation as a short-story writer is international. Her accessible, moving stories explore human complexities in a seemingly effortless style. Munros writing has established her as one of our greatest contemporary writers of fiction, or, as Cynthia Ozick put it, our Chekhov. Her puppy loveMike A well-driller named Mike Macallum had a son, also called Mike , who was the good friend of the narrator, when they first met, she was eight and he was nine. His youngest boy was run over and he was the one who ran over him. In paragraph 86, I walked a little behind him. And I did not say anything not one kind, common, helpless word. We had passes right by that. I think he told her because he put her as his most trust people. Thats enough. And after he said the secret, she didnt say anything because she knew exactly what his feeling that moment, she didnt need to say anything, maybe silence is the best choice.
