Personal StatementIntroductionI’m Ningjie Wei, from a southern city in China called Nanjing. I was graduated from an HND course at Nanjing University. After three year study in China, I chose Middlesex University to complete the final year of my Bachelor’s degree. I am a girl with confidence so that no matter in study or in life I trust myself. Being influenced by my father who is a general manager, I have always had a great interest in management since I was a little girl. In my mind, a manager should have overall view to predict what will happen next so as to defend risks for the company. Luckily enough, I had many opportunities to practise managing skills in school. In the following sections, I am about to tell you my experience and study plan. ExperienceGrade: In Nanjing University, I have got two As in two great units and achieved 6.0 in IELTS in my second year of study at Nanjing University. Those experiences gave me great opportunities to practise management skills for myself. Work ExperienceI also spent some of my holidays working in two international trade companies, Nanjing Textiles Import and Export Corporate Limited and Sainty Company Limited. During the two months in Nanjing Textiles Import and Export Corporate Limited, I have been in charge of the process of international trade and learned some skills in efficiently communicating with various customers. The second internship was at Christmas holiday, I went to Sainty Company Limited, having noticed changes under such a negative economic environment as well as how government makes regulations to reduce the influence on import & export industry. HobbyI have many hobbies such as language and travelling. I have ever participated in Esperanto class and French class to develop the interest for foreign languages. Through travelling, I can lean more about different cultures and customs. I like travelling because it is a direct way to connect with the things outside your country. I have ever been to many countries such as Australia, America and Korea. During the journey in America, I have been to Cal Poly University to carry out a short time study. (Reference 4)Study PlanAbout academic backgroundI chose to study MSc International Management at Exeter University as the curriculum suits me most. My background knowledge in areas like Management, Economics, Finance, Organisation Strategy and Global Business etc I have learned from either Middlesex University or Nanjing University will be a base to continue further study at Exeter University. Also this course is an advanced programme based on the issues, approaches and tools for management and the governance of organisations. I believe this course can give me a great space to develop my potential.Occupational PlanningIn the future, I want to be engaged in organisation management. In this situation, I think the programme I chose will give me enough knowledge about company’s development, social and economic environment and innovation. After graduating from school, I will give myself one year to do internship in a global company. During this year, I will practise what I have learned, and experience the unique British organisation culture, and hopefully bring new ideas and some refreshing Asian styles to create a new climate!Above all The comprehensive and solid academic knowledge is a light to direct my way in the work. If I have the opportunity to study at Exeter University, I will try my best to do well because it is going to be a starting point where I fly my dreams.
