联合国教科文组织亚太地区世界遗产培训与研究中心苏州分中心成立于 2007 年 5 月，是由联合国教科文组织世界遗产中心认证、 在中国联合国教科文组织全国委员会领导下的国际培训研究机构中心内设办公室、项目部、研究部和培训部四个部门，以致远、务实、协力、创新的团队精神，致力于亚太地区古建筑修复技术的培训与研究以及开展针对青少年的世界遗产知识教育 Introduction orld Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region (WHITRAP), the first-ever Category Ⅱ Institute concerning World Heritage established in a developing country under the auspices of UNESCO and a non-profit training and research organization, develops, provides and promotes appropriate policies and technologies for strengthening the implementation of the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage by building the capacity of all those professionals, administrators, practitioners and craftsmen involved with World Heritage site inscription, protection, conservation and management in the Asia and the Pacific region, through training, research, information dissemination and network building. Three operational centres of WHITRAP locate respectively in Beijin, Shanghai and Suzhou. WHITRAP Suzhou, established in May,2007, is an international World Heritage training and research organization under the leadship of Chinese National Commission for UNESCO and certified by UNESCO World Heritage Center. The Center consists of 4 departments: Administrative Office, Project Dept., Research Dept. and Training Dept.. By the team spirit of ambition, practicality, cooperation and innovation, WHITRAP Suzhou is dedicated to the training and research of ancient architecture restoration and the World Heritage youth education across the Asia-Pacific Region. 亚 W 。
