Teaching ProcedureStep 1 Warming up (5 minutes)1. To begin with, make students watch a short video clip which is an inspirational speech about COVID-19 pandemic. On the one hand, it can make students more concerned about news and our own country; on the other hand, it can lead to the topic of this unit. As the white war, which is closely related to the topic of this unit, has just passed.2. Brainstorming and language trainingIn this part, teachers should encourage students to work out as many related words or phrases as possible. Then, teachers are supposed to summarize these words and phrases in a chart like the above chart. In order to make students speak English accurately, the teacher will teach them to practice the right pronunciation. After that, an interesting game (work in pairs) is designed for them to compete.Step 2 New knowledge teaching (35 minutes)Part one: global reading (5 minutes)1. Make students skim the entire text and circle the topic sentences of each paragraph to have a general understanding of the text. Meanwhile, after learning some healthy lifestyles, students can realize there are different kinds of unhealthy lifestyles in life. Smoking is the most common one.2.
