People in darker places介词短语做定语 need more light than ordinary 逻辑错误，改成 other people.不要用绝对的词 Maybe even a dim暗淡的 light can give them much hope for a better life and progress 去掉，罗嗦. Maybe just a thread of light一线光辉 will call forth唤起 their strength and courage to help them step out of their difficulties走出困境. 缺少主题句 For instance 例如 when someone is starving饿得要死 to death, just a little food and water from you may save his（性别歧视，改 his or her） life. Or（改成 again）when a little girl in a poor rural乡村area drops out of school 退学 because of poverty 贫困, just a small sum of 一点 money from you may support her to finish her schooling and change her life, 逗号改句号。
