3页平安科学与工程专业英语Specialty English for the Science and Art of Lightning一、课程基本情况课程类别:专业任选课课程学分:2学分课程总学时:32学时,其中讲课:32学时课程性质:选修开课学期:第6学期先修课程:大学英语适用专业:平安科学与工程(雷电防护科学与技术)(本科)教 材:王振会等,雷电科学与技术专业英语读物(修订版),气象出版社,2013o 开课单位:大气物理学院雷电科学与技术系二、课程性质、教学目标和任务《雷电防护科学与技术专业英语》是大学非英语专业设置的一门由雷电防护科学与技术 专业教师授课并涉及专业领域的课程,是基础英语的后续课程,帮助学生在专业学习和研究 中逐步到达能用英语较熟练地阅读本专业的文献资料的需要课程共精读短文39篇,泛读 假设干篇这些短文包括雷电基本特征,雷电危害与风险评估,雷电防护规范、技术、系统及 器件(尤其是浪涌电压防护技术),雷电探测及雷电资料等方面,基本包括了本专业涉及领 域的方方面面通过这些阅读材料的学习,要求该专业学生掌握雷电防护科学与技术领域常 用的科技英语词汇和术语,掌握科技英语的写作基本要求,能顺利阅读本专业的英语资料, 理解正确,能借助字典进行专业资料的汉英互译,理解正确,译文通顺,能用英语书写文献 摘要或论文综述,表达原意正确,无重大语言错误。
