Doing things right or doing right thingsGood morning, ladies and gentlemen.Doing things right or doing right things? It is a question. Before answering this question, let’s first imagine such a situation scene: A person on the starting line is ready to start. The finishing line is in the east. However, when the starting gun fired went off, he rushed to the west. He runs faster and faster. Do you think he is getting closer to the terminal point or not? It is obvious that he is getting further fartherand further away from the finishing line, for he is doing a wrong thing with in the wrong direction. So you see, no matter how skillful or how terrific powerful you are, it doesn’t work if you do something wrong.Having decided to learn physics well since high school, I put all my heart into Physics study. Every day I forced myself to rise at six o’clock, doing the physics exercises and physical equations. Each weekend I even took extra training courses off campus. I often fantasized that if only I could learn physics well in one day! But somehow it seemed, the harder that I tried to do so, the more backfires on me. I had to admit that I still failed in physics. At that time I was devastated frustrated and fragile. But my father patted me on the shoulder and said, “If this route is a dead end, let’s find another way to go. Figure out your strengths and the path you want to take.” Afterwards, I choose Liberal arts and I eventually found my way. I became more confident. Clearly, I am better at language than physics. Didn’t I work harder than ever before? No! Did I find the right direction? No, I didn’t! So you see, no matter how diligent I am, it doesn’t work if I do something wrong.So dear friends, if I have to choose between the two, doing right things is definitely my first choice. Can we try to do Anti-human scientific experiments, pyramid selling or cheating? No, we can’t. Why? Because they are wrong things for us to do. If we do, directly speaking, it is dangerous and we’ll die quickly. Therefore, doing right things is the precondition. In other words, only by doing right thing can we do things right or well. So ladies and gentlemen, what are “right things”? From my perspective, they mean we work in a definitely right direction which has been proven correct in practice. Just like that the track man should run to the end is established rule and arts is the more suitable goal for me. Now I am doing three right things: studying, writing and running. And I really want to see what will happen if I stick to them for one or two years, though the road may be tough ahead. So everybody, let’s do right things first and then try to do them right. Only in this way do I believe the promising future is coming. Thank you! 。
