In the past, our grandfathers used to plough the field with cattle and during the times of our fathers, farmers drove a tractor to farm the land. However, in today’s society, farmers have no longer to farm by themselves. Instead, they can sit comfortably in a chair, remotely controlling several automatic tractors through a smart device and meanwhile enjoying a cup of tea.What mainly accounts for this phenomenon is that great developments have taken place in modern technology during the past decades, thus bringing much convenience to not only the farmers but also people from all walks of life. With continuous efforts made by scientists, the use of modern technology has been widespread, from accelerating the process of manufacturing to changing many people’s working patterns. Those who have had an initial try at using modern technology soon embrace it and then are enjoying the multiple benefits brought about by technology. Without doubt, the 21st century is a new era of modern technology.As teenagers, while benefiting from the convenience of technology in our daily life, we should also work harder and be ready to meet any new challenges, contributing to making a difference for our country and the whole world. By aiming high and starting small, we're bound to push further technological advances and it's my firm belief that the fruits of modern technology will lead to a more promising and prosperous future. As is vividly depicted in the pictures, the three generations of farmers adopt three different farming methods. My grandfather ploughs the field with the help of mules and horses while my father uses tractors to turn over the soil. In the case of me, I am liberated from the heavy farming work, sitting comfortably in the chair and controlling everything remotely via smart devices.The thought-provoking picture indicates that our farming methods have experienced dramatic changes. Nowadays, assisted by advanced agricultural technologies, we can cultivate fields in a more efficient and relaxing way instead of toiling in extreme weather conditions.One obvious reason contributing to this phenomenon is the development of science and technology. With advances in technology, more and more modern machines are invented in place of human labor so that farmers are no longer required to break sweat in the fields themselves. Besides, as the world population is increasing rapidly, large quantities of food are urgently needed to feed the people. Under the circumstances, the traditional ways of farming can’t meet the demand any more, which gives rise to many agricultural inventions to increase the productivity. Furthermore, so well-educated is the new generation that they have open minds and professional knowledge, making it possible for them to have a good command of the modern farming methods in a short time. Through the truth reflected behind the pictures, I am aware that the development of science and technology is of great help to agriculture and in turn improves our life. As a student, not only should we keep pace with the times but we also need to go to great lengths to acquire as much knowledge as possible so as to do a small bit in the future. In the first picture, the grandpa was using the primitive cow plough, feeling exhausted. Years after that, the father drove a tractor to make the farming easier. Due to the overall improved educational system and supportive policies, even the farmers nowadays can have access to quality educational resources. They are equipped with the knowledge about the cutting-edge technology and professional agricultural techniques so that they can make full use of the latest discoveries and inventions in farming.We see that science and technology and education have made numerous contributions to the development and innovation of agriculture.
