An always closer cooperation between the customer and supplier is there- fore a ne

6、cessary precondition for global competitiveness. This close cooperation between customer and supplier is to be organized through agreements. This publication gives appropriate comments and recommendations on this subject. With the first edition of the VDA Volume 2 from the series Quality Manage- ment in the Automotive Industry“ in the year 1975, framework guidelines for the evaluation of the quality capability of suppliers, first sample testing and the evaluation of the quality of serial parts u

7、pon material receipt were estab- lished. In the second edition of the VDA Volume 2 in 1995 methods to assess the quality performance of serial supplies and first sample testing were des- cribed in basic form. The present third edition became necessary in order to achieve the assimi- lation to international quality management standards in the Automotive Industry. Another aim existed in wanting to condense this volume. Therefore some contents which are already been illustrated in detail in other V

8、DA publi- cations were no longer included. In this edition the selection of suppliers, the production process and product approval (first sample testing) and quality assurance agreements are funda- mentally newly described. Procedures to assess quality performance in the series were removed in favor of the up-to-date PPM-evaluation. During the preparation, requirements and comments from e.g. QS-9000, PPAP (Pro- duction Part Approval Process) and EAQF were taken into consideration. 6 We would lik
