这里，滞留旅客表达为“stranded passengers”；strand 此处为“搁浅，陷入困难或毫无办法的境地”例如：The convoy was stranded in the desert.使团在沙漠中陷入了困境 此处用来形容旅客被困在火车站、无法立刻回家过年的两难境地7. orange alert 橙色预警 The National Meteorological Center issued an orange alert, saying snow and sleet will sweep across central, eastern and southern regions from Friday night through Saturday.中央气象台发布暴雪橙色预警，预计周五（1日）晚到周六（2日）我国中部、东部、南部地区将有新一轮强降雪橙色预警表达为orange alert, 为暴雪预警信号里面强度第二的警报暴雪预警信号分五级，由弱到强分别用绿色green、蓝色blue、黄色yellow、橙色orange、红色red表示 alert 普遍表示“警报，警惕“，如恐怖威胁预警 “terror alert“。

例如：布什政府宣布，将美国全境恐怖威胁警戒级别从原来的黄色提高至橙色，为五色危险级别中的第二高等级The Bush administration raised the terror alert from yellow to orange, the second-highest level on a five-color scale。
