    • Should University Libraries Be Open to the PublicCivil reading arouses wide public concern so plenty of people claim that university libraries are ought to take a crack at providing a permission for the public. However, I hold the opinion that the wide-open university libraries are wrong and useless innovation.Firstly, if the wide-open university libraries should be taken into consideration. To satisfy thereading need of society, the university keeping pace to the appeal, takes action to carry out thepilot program, which is opening libraries to some people. For example, recently, universitylibraries in Beijing hold a series of activities for the primary and middle school students, but halfof them played host to any student in consequence of boring forms. Therefore, even if universitylibraries open to the public, it ’sstill useless if people have no interested in reading.Secondly, if opening to the public becomes universities ’unshakable duty? University librarybelongs to a university. College students received the acceptance notification from university andPay tuition, so they are entitled to make full use of learning resource in library.Buton thecontrary, those who didn ’tpay any tuition have no right to make demands on student’s resource. In addition, Outsiders are maybe of break laws and of loose morals. Therefore, we shouldn’tseekfor a mere formality, but put more emphasis on enhancing the quality of national predispositions. Last but not least, if the wide-open university libraries are necessary? There built many public libraries in society, whose function is providing books for the public to acquire knowledge andskills. In addition, the Internet is soconvenientthat anyonecan give prioritytodownloadmajorities of books instead of lending books in library. In a nutshell, thereis no denying thatwe shouldrecommendcivil reading in society, but weneedn’tsacrifice the legitimate rightsand interests of studentsbecause of openinguniversitylibraries to the public. The wide-openuniversitylibraries bidehis time whenthequality ofnational predispositions enhances and government raise the public’s awareness of reading.。
