Malcolm X grew to fame for championing the rights of his fellow black Americans in the 1950s and 1960s. Early on in life, he lost interest in school when a favorite teacher told him his dream of becoming a lawyer was "no realistic goal for a nigger." 6 I believe it took me a day. Then, aloud, I read back, to myself, everything I’d written on the tablet.
