Methods The recast nickel-chromium ceramic alloys were respectively obtained by recasting the nickel—chromium alloy in pressure casting condition for once,twice,3 times and 4 times.The recast alloys were respectively cast with uncast alloys(new alloys)to produce specimens for hardness testing. The hardness specimens were measured for Vickers hardness in a microhardness tester after initial ground— ing,resin inlay,and metallographic polishing. Results On the basis of their Vickers hardness,there was no significant difference between the alloys recast for 2~5 times and those cast for once(P>0.05). Conclusion The nickel—chromium ceramic alloy can be recast for at least 5 times without impairing its hardness.
