All these contribute to its brilliance, make it a great masterpieceIn order to better expound my idea, I’d better make clear that why I say the book is simple First, the book has simple dialogues. There is no need to think twice to understand it Second, the characters of this book are simple People all showed their personalities directly and firmly Third, the book consists of simple humors which will bring us simple happiness. Lastly, the theme of this book—the love-is simple. Though everyone has his own understanding of love, but everyone praises it and longs for it. All in all, the book is made up of simple factors。
But we can not just define it only as a simple love story The complexion is the feature of a play The plot of a play must be complex; this book is not an exception. This book not only tells a love story between two men and two women, but a love story with fairy tales senses. The love—juice, an imaginary substance, will make people fall in love with the first thing he sees. This leads the whole story into a total different way from the ordinary love story. The best part of the whole book is the act three, since all the conflicts of the play all begin in act three. When Lysander and Demetrius woke up after their eyes were dropped into with a love—juice, it is Helena who first comes to their bedsides. Thus they all fell in love with Helena, and the situation of two girls, Helena and Hermia, had totally interchanged。
Hermia was grieved for the lost of her lover, and Helena was filled with surprises. And then two men fighted for Helena, and the two girls, who were former friends, became lack of understanding towards each other. Before the happy ending comes, the situation is so weird and complex that everyone cannot help wondering about what will happen next. The complexion of plot attracts us to engross into the book and to think about the loveIn my opinion, the “dream” in the title maybe is a manifestation of the fanciful and mythical development of the story。
From the beginning of the play, the four youth loves each other, and then comes the complicate relationship of love and hatred between them After the appearance of the love- juice, whole story has faced a drastic change Finally, the magic power is eased, the lovers finally got married Peace is brought back to the world. From the chaos situation to the happy ending, the development is just like a dream Just as Puck said in the end of the whole play, “No more yielding but a dream Indeed, if it is a trick of the fairies, the story is ridiculous and fanciful. It is more like a dream. The book A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the symbol of maturity of Shakespeare’ comedies, it is full of fancy and lyricism。
The background of the story is set in a world where there are fairies, this adds fancy to this story. The love—juice, the most important stage property in this play, also brings fancy to this story The lyricism of this play is embodied in the dialogues between the lovers. The story also contains many jokes and punch lines, such as the queen of fairies, Titania fell in love with a donkey due to the effect of the love-juice and the farces between the lovers It is a veritable comedy.Although it is a comedy, some scenes in it also make us depressed. At the start of the play, the father of Hermia forced her to marry Demetrius; otherwise he would like to have Hermia punished by the law。
From this, we can see the cruelty of the feudalism and the disadvantage of conservative ideas. Readers will be depressed by the first scene, but the play is to depress in order to rise The atmosphere will gradually turn relaxingThe road to happiness is strewn with setbacks. But in A Midsummer Night’s Dream we can see happiness and easiness along the road Finally we ended in a grand party. All the highlights in the play are the production of the author’s imagination, poetry and sagacity. The book is a feast for us。
The most fanciful is the dream; the most beautiful is the love The combination of the love and dream is the best comedy in the world-A Midsummer Night's Dream。
