FAW Group Corporation R&D Center)[Abstract] Flow field emulation computation and aerodynamic noise value pre-estimation of cooling fan are carried out with CFD technique based on N-S equation and standard k-s turbulence model and SIMPLE algorithm in commercial software FLUENT. The emulation results and test results are approximately identical, therefore verifying the authenticity of flow field emulation algorithm. An improved fan model is obtained by studying different aerofoil sections. The computation results show that compared with the previous fan, the mass flow of the modified plan 1 increases by 4.4% to 4.8%, whereas noise drops by 2.4 to 4.6dB (A); the mass flow of the modified plan 2 increases by 7.。
