Located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan- the Land of Abundance, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) is the most famous university on information technology under the direction of the National Ministry of Education. From 2001 on, UESTC has been selected as one of 39 universities heading for world-famous research-oriented universities. 电子科技大学成立于 1956 年经过 50 多年的发展，学校形成了从本科到硕士研究生、博士研究生等多层次、多类型的人才培养格局，成为一所完整覆盖整个电子信息类学科，以电子信息科学技术为核心，以工为主的研究型大学UESTC was founded in 1956. Fifty years’ efforts and cultivations have witnessed the University’s process from sole dependence on electronic information engineering to all-around programs in electronic disciplines, and the University now turns out to be a key multidisciplinary university with electronic information science and technology as its nucleus, engineering as its major field, and incorporates science, management and liberal arts.学校设有研究生院、15 个学院（部） ，另有示范性软件学院、继续教育学院、职业教育学院和网络教育学院以及电子科技大学成都学院、电子科技大学中山学院两个独立学院。

学校现有教职工 3400 余人，其中现有专任教师2000 余人，教授 340 余人学校现有各类全日制在读学生 25000 余人，其中博士、硕士研究生 9000 余人UESTC now consists of a graduate school, and 15 schools, plus School of Software, School of Continuing Education, School of Vocational Education, School of Online Education, Chengdu College and Zhongshan Institute. UESTC has more than 3,400 faculty members. Among them over 2000 are full-time teachers, more than 340 are professors. UESTC has a current enrollment of 25,000 students, including 9000 doctors and masters.学校占地 5000 余亩，其中，清水河校区占地 4000 余亩，总建筑面积约 70 万㎡，种植银杏、楠木、香樟、水杉、桂花等各类乔木 2 万多株，基本建成数字化绿色校园。

学校拥有馆藏图书 220 万册，数字文献资源 130000GB，建有现代化的运动场、体育馆、网球场、游泳池、健身馆等体育设施 UESTC occupies a land area of over 820 acres, among which Qingshuihe Campus takes 658 acres, with a total construction area of 700,000 square meters. On the campus, there are more than 20,000 trees such as gingko, Nan-mao, camphor tree, metasequoia, osmanthus and so on, which make it a green digital campus. The university has 2.2 million volumes of books, and 130000GB digital resources.
