A Different FamilyAfterthought of reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-timeThis is a different book, because of the different experiences of the different protagonist. This is a detective novel about to finding who killed a poodle dog called Wellington. Actually, it’s a story about a family. Christopher was a child who had the talent for the math. He was quite strange. He did not like to talk to strangers, and once he even did not talk to other people for 5 weeks. But he liked thinking about math problems, and he was the first student who passed the A-level test and get A grade. He was such a clever boy, but one day in the garden of Mrs.Shears, he found somebody had killed a dog called Wellington with a garden fork, and the dog was belong to Mrs.Shears, who was his neighbor. Then he decided to find out who killed Wellington. This was a very difficult decision because to be a detective is difficult, especially to Christopher, a mum boy. Unfortunately, his father was against. And he said to Christopher to keep his nose out of other people’s business. But Christopher really like the dog, and he really wanted to know who killed Wellington. So he did the detective work secretly, and he wrote this book at the same time.He worked really hard. He talked to his neighbors who did not talked to before. And he tried to make conversations with strangers. This was a challenge, and he accepted. The work was favoring. He found many things he did not know before, some clues of this case. His father told him his mother was died because of something wrong with her heart. But Christopher found something different from which his father said.Unlucky, his detective work was found by his father, because his father found the book he was writing which about the Wellington. His father was angry and confiscate his book. This was a very bad thing because that means he could not write the book anymore. Finally, he decided to take his book back, and then he found something strange and important. He found some letters from his mother which even made me want to cry. His mother wrote to him once a week, and she really love Christopher, and the all wrote dates was after mother died. His father was very angry because Christopher went to his room and looked his personal things, he even touched his son. Christopher hated someone touch him, so he picked up his Swiss Army Knife, and hurt his father. Christopher was thinking about the letters, his mother did not die, she was alive, and she lived in London. His father said he killed Wellington. It was too complicated to Christopher to understand, Even though his father said he was really, really sorry, about killing Wellington, about taking the lie to him about his mother. Maybe he did these things because of his selfishness, but finally he did these things for Christopher, his son.But Christopher was scared, so he ran away and decided to live with his mother. But mother was lived in London. The road to London is hard for Christopher. But he thought he should do that.His father was really worried when he could not find his son. But at that time, Christopher might had on the train. When he arrived at London, he found his mother. His mother was very happy to see his lovely son. She decided to protect Christopher, and will not let his father took him away. At last, his father found Christopher, but Christopher hated him. his father gave him a present which was a lovely dog. Christopher was happy and did not hate his father anymore. I think this is a good end of the story. Even though Father and Mother were not get well as before, but fortunately, they all loved their son. That was good, that was enough. By Lu Yixian (Lily)。
