Now, I’m going to talk about the first period of this unit. To educateNext, the key points of this lesson.First is to enable the children to read the new words and sentences correctly.Then is to enable the children to understand the sentence patterns and try to encourage them to communicate with others in the real situation.Now the teaching difficulties:Well, to achieve these teaching aims better, I’ll use the teaching methods below:a. communicative teaching methodb. audio-visual teaching methodc. total situational action teaching methodThe purpose of learning English is to cultivate the children’s good sense of English language and their ability to communicate with others. So in this lesson, I’ll mainly use these teaching methods above. I’ll give the children some tasks and arrange five kinds of activities: talking, guessing games, watching CAI, acting out the dialogue and having a competition. And in this lesson, a recorder, CAI word cards and pictures will be needed. They can mobilize the students’ enthusiasm and creativity in learning English. Teaching proceduresIn order to make the teaching process proper and efficient, I divide it into six stepsStep 1 Warming-upPurpose: This step is to form a better situation for the students by singing and speaking. can make the students feel pleased and satisfied, and can arouse exciting motion. And can not only review the learnt knowledge for the next step, but also can lead the students into a thick English studying atmosphere.Step 2 Presentation and practiceI’ll mainly talk about this step.Purpose: This design is a novelty of my lesson. It leads the students into . They can acquire the language unconsciously and can do communication freely.Purpose: To present the key structures one by one is much easier for the students to learn and grasp the meaning. With the help of the CAI and the pictures, they provide a real situation to understanding the meaning of the and can make the relationship between the students and the teacher better.During this part, the students can think and say by themselves. They’ll be glad to use the knowledge they have learnt and their creative power will be trained. Purpose: In this step, the students can comprehend the and obtain the knowledge actively through the mental process of seeing, saying and observing.(They can say loudly and freely. They’ll feel happy and successful during this part. By way of communication, the students will understand the meaning of the structure better and master the knowledge firmly.)Present the texta.b. After presenting the text, play the tape recorder completely again, let the students concentrate on listening, then answer my questions according to the dialogue.c. After being familiar with the text, let the students try to act out the dialogue.Purpose: Children are very interested in cartoons. The CAI is employed to make the students get the general idea of the dialogue as a whole. At the same time, let the students have a chance to practice their listening and speaking abilities.Step III ConsolidationTaskIn this step, I still adopt the “Task-based” teaching method, so as to break through the difficult points of this lesson.Purpose: This part is the consolidation of the key structure and is an extensive activity for the students. In the group activities, they can speak a little English with ease. This will encourage them to speak English. In fact, it incarnates a kind of demand of human being.Meanwhile, during the teaching process, I will give the students some assessments. I will have group competition and individual competition.
