    • 开心英语五年级上册unit4 School Things 民众镇育才小学 冯碟妍 一、Teaching content. This part is a story. It mainly deals with these key words:island, paper, crayons, some, any,but. And it also provides some new language points for the students to master.二、 About the students. Our students are in Grade Five. They are active and interested in new things.After learning English for 4 years, they have some basic English background knowledge. They enjoy taking part in all kinds of class activities. At present they can express their own ideas with simple oral English. So the teacher should attach importance to the communication with them, providing them the chances of using language. 三、 following aims. 1、Aims on the knowledge.By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read, recognize, and use these words: island, paper, crayons, some, any, but. And these sentences :Do you have any …? .No, I don’t. But I have…2、Aims on the abilities.(1)To improve the abilities of listening, speaking, writing  and reading.(2)To enable Ss to use simple sentences to role play the story.(3)To foster Ss’ abilities of communication and their innovation.3、Aims on the emotion.(1)To foster Ss’ interest of learning English.(2)To train Ss’ consciousness of co-operation and proper competition.(3)To Improve the students’ confidence.四、The Key Points of this lesson : To help the students to master the new words and new expressions. And the difficult points: How to use anysome to ask and give response.五、Teaching MethodsIn this lesson, I will mainly use, “Communicative language teaching method” and “Task-based teaching method” .I will arrange four kinds of activities:revision, acting out the story, finishing a survey and having a competition. As for the competition, I will divide the Ss into seven groups.六、Teaching Procedures. I will finish the lesson in 5 steps.Step1. Before reading.Free talk between teacher and Students. Review by asking questions about some school things. The purpose of this is to form a better English learning surrounding for the Students, and, at the same time, it provides situations to review the learnt knowledge for the next step.Step 2 While readingIn new language learning . students will read the pictures, ask and answer questions, learn more about the text, learn some new words and develop the thinking step by step. 1. Picture reading : Show Ss a picture with information gap, and I ask Ss two questions to help them find the detals.For example: Who are they? 2. Ask and answer questions.Ask Ss some detail questions about the text. These questions can help Ss find the information from the text. Where are they?If you are on the island, what can you do?3、Listen and answer: What does Gogo want to do? When we draw, what do we need?4、Watch the video and tick. (“√”or”×”) What do Tony have?5、Read and act.6、Picture reading: ask and answer7、Read and discuss What do you think of Gogo ?Step3 Post reading1、 Listen and repeat. Follow the speakers 2、 Let’s retell the story!3、 Let’s role play .For practicing, we try a new way of reading the text : Reader’s Theatre . Ss act the text emotionally with actions.Task-based teaching method and Communicative language teaching method are used here. The activity is to develop Students’ ability of communication and co-operation .Homework:1. Read and play the roles in the story. 流利朗读并表演本课故事2.
