(二)Telling Apart1. Help Ss practice the pronunciation of the phonetic sounds: 2. Read the proverbs and sayings, and practice the tongue twisters.l Play the recording and ask Ss to read aloud. l Correct their pronunciation when necessary.l For more exercises, please see Optional exercises in Teacher’s Book.(三)Testing Your Ears1. Read new words, phrases and expressions. 2. Listening exercises: simple sentences, conversations and a passage.3. Watch a video about the work of “Veterinary assistants”. l Explain each new word and phrase with one example sentence presented in PPT.l When doing exercises, tell Ss to read the four choices in advance;pay attention to the importance of grammatical coherence.l Watch the video and try to answer the following questions presented in PPT.(四)Opening Your Mouth1. Read new words, phrases and expressions.2. Reading exercises: 4 short conversations and 2 longer ones.3. Act out the conversations and then make up their own conversations in the given situations.l Explain each new word and phrase with one example sentence presented in PPT.l Play the recording and ask Ss to read after it. l Divide Ss into small groups to act out the conversations according to the pictures or clues.(五)Talking Together 1. Act out the pictures in Task 1 with partners.2. Make their own conversations with their partners.3. Watch a video, in which an employee from University of Cambridge talking about her work and the university.l Let Ss act out their own conversations more freely. l Ask some volunteers to present their acting in class.l Watch the video and try to answer the following questions presented in PPT. (六)Enjoying Your SelfListen to two humorous stories to refresh oneself.Listen to the stories (presented in PPT or MP3), read them after the recording, and enjoy the humor in them.课 后 学 习 设 计作业l Review the new words, phrases and proper names, and do the listening practices in the unit again. l Practice the tongue twister.
