Therefore,for the English learners ,especially for the translation learners, learning and studying the translation of Hu Jintao’s Report at 18th Party Congress will be beneficial to them. Owing to the differences of thinking ways,linguistic customs and expressions between Chinese and English and in order to make a better coherence with the Report, the translator used seven methods of amplification from two aspects of grammar and semantic,namely amplification of the subject-predicate,conjunctions or adverb,prepositions,pronouns,articles,words of implied meaning and annotations. 指根据英汉两种语言不同的思维方式、语言习惯和表达方式，在翻译时增添一些词、短句或句子，以便更准确地表达出原文所包含的意义郭著章、李庆生编著的《英汉互译教程》中对增译法的定义是这样的：“为了使译文忠实的表达原文的意思与风格并使译文合乎表达习惯，必须增加一些词语，就叫做增译法”因此可以知道增译不是无中生有地随意增加语言单位，而是增加原文中虽无其形但有其意的一些语言单位为使译文更加通顺达意，所增补的语言单位必须是在修辞、结构或语义上必不可少的，增补后并无蛇足之感简而言之，增译法就是为了更好的表达原意，在翻译时增添一些词、短句或句子的翻译方法增译法作为一种重要的翻译方法，一是保证译文语法结构的完整，二是保证译文意思的明确,这里指的不仅仅局限于明白原文的字面意思因为翻译不仅是一种交流工具，更是一4种文化桥梁，通过增译法的应用能够使读者更好的了解中国的文化背景，更好的理解《十八大报告》中的各项政策，便于读者加深对中国的了解，扩大与中国的政治经济文化交流《英汉互译教程》简单地归纳了九种增译法，即增译原文中找不到的对应的词语、动词、名词、主谓结构、定语、状语或副词、语气助词、代词和连词本文主要是针对引用《十八大报告》汉译英实例，通过语法和语义两个层面详细讨论《十八大报告》中增译法的七种方法的运用。

二、增译法在 《 十 八 大 报 告 》 汉 英 翻 译 中 的 应 用 增 译 法 在 《 十 八 大 报 告 》 汉 英 翻 译 中 的 广 泛 使 用 ， 总 体 可 归 纳 在 以 下 两 个 层 面 ：（ 一 ） 语 法 层 面1、 增 译 主 谓 结 构汉 语 属 于 意 合 语 言 ， 经 常 省 略 主 语 ， 而 英 语 属 形 合 语 言 ， 英 文 中 的 句 子 一 般 都 有 主 句 ， 且后 面 的 从 句 内 容 都 是 围 绕 主 句 展 开 ， 因 此 在 翻 译 的 时 候 ， 通 过 主 谓 结 构 的 增 译 ， 来 保 持 英 语句 法 的 完 整 1） 实践发展永无止境，认识真理永无止境，理论创新永无止境There is no end to practice, to seeking truth, or to making theoretical innovations. 2） 解放和发展社会生产力，建设社会主义市场经济. We should adopt policies and measures to better facilitate the development of the real economy. 5） 在党和人民创造性实践中奋力开拓中国特色社会主义更为广阔的发展前景we will open up a bright future for developing socialism with Chinese characteristics through the creative practices of the Party and the people.由于英语不同于汉语那样习惯把内容放在前面，而是常常把评 论 放 在 前 面 内容放在后面，尤 其 是 内 容 比 评 论 较 多 的 时 候 ， 或 者 评 论 是 多 个 同 样 的 形 容 词 时 ， 往 往 往 往 通 过 增 译 形式 主 语 "there be"和 "it "结 构 使 句 子 显 的 更 加 规 整 ， 如 例 1） ， 2),， 3） ， 分 别 增 益 "there be"， "it "结 构 ， 使 得 译 文 更 符 合 英 式 思 维 的 逻 辑 。

此 外 ， 例 2） ， 3） ， 4)， 5)则 分 别 增 译 了 "we must"， "We should",和 "We will"的 主 谓 结 构 ， 使 译 文 在 在 句 式 上 和 时 态 上 都 保 持 了 英 语 语 法的 准 确 性 除 了 上 面 所 举 的 例 句 以 外 ，《 十 八 大 报 告 》 中 还 有 很 多 类 似 的 表 决 心 和 任 务 的 并 列句 都 采 用 了 增 译 主 谓 结 构 来 保 持 句 法 完 整 的 方 法 2、 增 译 连 词 或 副 词汉 语 是 意 合 式 语 言 ， 上 下 文 的 组 织 主 要 是 依 靠 句 子 的 内 在 意 思 来 衔 接 ， 而 不 一 定 要 连 接 词 英 语 则 是 形 合 式 语 言 ， 上 下 文 之 间 的 衔 接 主 要 依 靠 连 接 词 等 句 法 手 段 来 实 现 且 汉 语 句 式 较为 松 散 ， 一 般 由 多 个 句 子 成 并 列 结 构 组 成 一 段 内 容 ， 而 英 语 句 式 较 为 紧 凑 ， 一 般 一 段 内 容 由一 个 主 句 和 多 个 分 句 成 分 枝 形 展 开 ， 且 主 从 关 系 十 分 明 显 ， 因 此 在 汉 译 英 的 译 的 过 程 中 往 往会 增 译 连 词 和 副 词 。
