13页Course Title: English Interpreting Lecturer: Wang Lei,汉语和英语数字表达的方式不同汉语是“十、百、千、万、十万、百万、千万、亿、十亿 ……”,也就是以“十”的倍数来表示 英语则是在数字超过千以后,以“千”(thousand)的倍数来表达,如“一万”是“ten thousand”,“十万”是“hundred thousand”,直至“百万”(million)百万以上的数字则用“百万”的倍数表达,如“千万”是“ten million”,“亿”是“hundred million”,直至“十亿”(billion)数字本身是没有意义也没有逻辑的,因此很难记准确如果光凭脑记,不管译员的记忆力有多好,都难以保证数字的准确性,尤其是大的数字英汉之间的数字转换,有下面这样的规则:1万 = ten thousand 10万 = one hundred thousand 100万 = one million 1000万= ten million 1亿 = one hundred million 10亿 = one billion百万以上的数字最简单的表达方法是把百万以后的数字用point多少来表达,如396万可说成3.96 million,3亿9650万是396.5 million。
