To Whom It May Concern,This is a certification and brief introduction of the Oversea Study Program of Guangzhou Elite Project (GEP). Established in 2011 by Guangzhou government, the project aims to improve the training of creative and distinguished students and enhance the development of Guangzhou city.Scholarship Benefits: ● A living stipend as prescribed by Guangzhou government. The scholarship winner will receive a stipend of 13000 RMB (about 2000 AUD) for one month. ● Health insurance.● A round-way international airfare at the beginning and end of the program. Scholarship Eligibility: ● Students currently studying in Guangzhou at the time of application. ● Has obtained formal admission or invitation letter and tuition fee waiver from foreign universities by the time of application. The foreign university should be one of the top 300 universities in the world (world university rankings published by Shanghai Jiaotong University).● Willing to observe the requirements of Guangzhou government scholarship.Doctoral Degree Program:Last year undergraduates and master’s students studying in Guangzhou who wish to pursue doctoral degrees at overseas universities may apply for 36-60 months scholarships from the GEP. The length of scholarship can also be determined according to the requirements of doctoral studies at foreign universities.Application materials include formal admission to a PhD program at a foreign university, together with a statement of tuition fee waiver or another scholarship granted by the foreign university that covers the tuition fee.Awardees should declare the support of GEP in their dissertations. They are expected to return to Guangzhou after finishing their doctoral degree programs and work in Guangzhou for at least five years.Joint-Training Program:Postgraduates currently registered at a doctoral program (not in the last year of the PhD program) at Universities in Guangzhou can apply for 12-24 months scholarships from the GEP. The joint-training program is organized under the cooperation of doctoral supervisors at home university and the host university abroad. Doctoral students are expected to come back to home university after this joint training for their dissertation defense and degree awarding. Application materials include a formal invitation letter from the host supervisor, a jointly designed research plan approved by both supervisors, and an introduction of the host supervisor. Awardees should declare the support of GEP in their dissertations.
