It indicates that they believe that the missing child could be found in this neighbourhood. 警察在附近地区搜救失踪的孩子 The house has been searched / scoured for the hidden bullion. 为了寻找藏起来的金条房子被仔细搜.. search 指寻找丢失的东西或被觉得是存在的东西,for 比look for改正式 hunt 指漫无边际的寻找急需要的东西 forscour 表达彻底地搜查一种特定范畴并暗示耗费更大的力气forEg.: I have been searching everywhere, but I can’t find the key.We spent a week hunting for the puma. They scoured the woods for the child. ■chest n. 大箱子:chest: a large strong box in which valuable objects are keptcase 衣箱(总称);suitcase 手提箱;safe 保险箱;trunk 汽车尾箱 dustbin 垃圾箱 ■ find n. 找到的物品sth found by chance, which happens to be good or valuableEg.: the little restaurant is quite a find. 这个小饭馆真不错 The garden is a good find. 这个小花园也是我们找到的不错的地方。

The text actually described a salvage which aimed at one ship but found another ship by chance. 本来要去寻找的船上的东西值钱,尽管她们没有找到目的,尽管船长已经接到命令要返航,但是她也懂得她们需要再次找寻,由于船上的金条价值连城。
她们意外发现了另一艘船,打捞上来的东西虽没有什么实用价值,却很有人情味,后来发现了航海日记,证明这艘船很有历史价值So an accidental discovery became the exhibits of the war museum. It’s not necessarily less valuable than the gold bullion that they didn’t find. The text is a descriptive essay which is in a style that’s objective and factual. 技术性的文章,遣词造句也很想报道文章,讲求真实和客观Language points: 1. operation: a sort of action for a particular purpose 行动 A salvage/ rescue / search operation 打捞、营救、搜寻行动2. sunken:fallen to the bottom of the sea 只可作定语,放在名词前 sink—sunk—sunk 过去分词也可作adj. 只作表语3. despite+n / doing / the fact that = in spite of Despite having been there twice he failed to find the place.=Despite the fact that he had been there …4. bed: bottom river bed6. be under the impression: means you believe sb wrongly because of its appearance由于表面现象二错误的相信…7. contents: (pl form indicates things inside a box or a room etc.; we use singular form to mean the content of a writing or a composition The custom officer went through the contents of my suitcase carefully.
