Before lunch and dinner, Americans usually drink cocktails(鸡尾酒）, but in California, most people drink wine. Meanwhile, before the main food to eat, they usually will eat salad. Fried mushrooms and fried onion rings（洋葱圈） can be used as appetizers, steaks, pork chops and chicken (leg) are the main food, lobster （龙虾）, shellfish and a varieties of fish, even fresh water fish are regarded as seafood. Fried potatoes are very popular and are almost indispensable food.In addition, if any left, Americans will be sure to pack to take home, so as not to waste.With the development of American’s life, the snack food （快餐）then arises at the historic moment. Fast-food chain shops(快餐连锁店） spreads all over the world, among them MacDonald should be the most popular. The supply snack food includes: The hamburger, roasts the beef, the beefsteak, the ham（ 火腿）, the sandwich, the oiled potato chips, the dried meat pie, the ice cream as well as all kinds of carbonic acid drink （碳酸饮料）and so on. If you are first to American restaurant, you should notice the followings: • 1, select the appropriate restaurants (such as: family-style restaurants, specialty restaurants and buffet restaurants(自助式餐厅）) • 2, the open time for the restaurant (open hour is always at 11:30 am until the night); • 3,you should book the seats first • 4, reaching restaurants, you can not go straight into the seat, unless the restaurant has a sign “casual sit（随意就坐）“; • 5, do not forget to give tip to the waiter when you pay(the actual amount is generally 10% to 15%). • The Big Apple：来到美国，说到 吃，肯定很多人的第一个反应是 The Big Apple，不过千万别误会 ，这可是你吃不了的苹果，它其实 是纽约市的“昵称”。

一般这要比McDonalds（ 麦当劳）或是Burger King（汉堡王 ）那样的速食连锁店要便宜，但是食 物要可口的多哦！ • Franks：在美国的街头， 你经常会碰到一些Street vendors（街头小贩）高 嚷着“Franks”，这时候你 可千万别以为他们在寻找 名叫Frank的人，Franks 在这里是“热狗”的意思 这些小贩就正在Selling Hot dogs（卖热狗） • 到餐厅点荷包蛋的讲法是 sunny side up, 因为荷包 蛋看起来是不是很样一个 小学生画的太阳? 。
