Justice I want to tell you something about justice We begin with a story Suppose you re the driver of a trolley car 现在设想你是你是开着某种有轨的电车的司机 Now your car is running fast 你的车正在高速行驶 Suddenly you find that there are five persons in your car s way 突然 你发现在你行驶的路上有5个人 You try to stop the car but you find the car s brakes don t work 你想要停下车但是你发现刹车坏了 Now you feel desperate because you will cause the death of five persons 现在你十分绝望因为你即将害死5个人 Suddenly you find that there is an another way for your car and there is only one person in the way 突然你又发现这儿还有一条路而那儿只有1个 人 Now tell me your choice kill one person or five persons 现在高速你你的选择 杀死一个人还是杀死5 个人 The people who want to kill 5 persons please rise your hand The people who want to kill 1 person please rise your hand One man did this survey before the result is that most people chose to kill one person because they thought that one die so that five should live 曾经有人做过这个调查发现大部分人选择 死一个人因为他们认为死了一个人却可以 活下来五个人 Then we start the next story This time you re not the driver of the trolley car you are an onlooker 这次你不是有轨电车司机了 你是一个旁观者 You are standing on a bridge which is in the way of the car 你站在电车轨道要经过的桥上 Now you see the trolley is out of control and in way of the car there are five persons 现在你看见一辆失控的电车正朝5人 撞去 Suddenly you find there is a very very fat man standing next to you You could give him a shove so that the car would stop and the five person would live and only the fat man s weight can stop the car 突然你发现桥上有一个极胖的人 你 现在可以故意把那个人推下去 这样 有轨电车就会停下 5个人就会获救 并且只有那个人的重量可以做到 Now would you give that man a shove or see the death of the five people 现在你会选择故意推下你个人还是看 着5个人死呢 As the survey result which did by the same man we found a strange thing Most people chose not to give the fat man a shove What s the reason of it I know the time is too short for me to say what I want But I want you to think of it and to think whether the principles are always right in our society 根据前人调查的结果我发现了一个奇怪的事情 大部分人在这时选择了不 推下那个人 为什么呢 我知道今天的时间太短去说我想要说的 但是我 想让你开始这个思考它 并且思考社会的原则是否永远都是对的 What is the justice 。
