Lesson 1 Text Introduction to Machinery Design [1] Machinery (machine systems collectively) design is either to formulate an engineering plan阐 明工程计划for the satisfaction of a specified need or to solve an engineering problem. It involves a range of 涉及到学科 disciplines in materials, mechanics, heat, flow, control, electronics and production. 机械设计用于阐明一个工程计划以满足某种特殊需要或解决一个具体的工程问 题。

Good design is the orderly 有条理的 and interesting arrangement of an idea to provide certain results or effects. A well-designed product is functional, efficient, and dependable. Such a product is less expensive than 与..比较 a similar poorly designed product that does not function properly and must constantly be repaired. 机械设计可能简单或很复杂,容易或是困难, 精确或不精确,它可能包括一些琐碎的问题,也可能是一个非常重要的问题。

It can be claimed 可以说 that the advancement of machinery design and manufacturing can remarkably promote the overall 整体水平 level of a country’s industrization. Our country is playing a more and more vital role 扮演越来越重要角色 in the global manufacturing 全球制造 业 industry. To accelerate(quicken)such an industrializing 工业化进程 process, highly skilled design engineers(现分短作定)having extensive knowledge and expertise [,ekspə:'ti:z 专门技术知识] are needed. 在现代工业化社会里, 一个国家的财富和生活水平与他们设计制造工程 产品的能力紧密地联系在一起。

      我们可以说机械设计和制造业的进步能显著地促进一个国家 工业化的整体水平的提高我们的国家在全球制造业大舞台上正扮演着越来越重要的角色, 加速国家工业化进程将就需要越来越多具有广泛知识和专门技术的高技能的设计工程师 Machinery Components 机械零件 The major part of a machine is the mechanical system. 机器的主要部分是机械系统 (力学系统) [3] And the mechanical system is decomposed into分解为分解为mechanisms(机构Device consisting of a piece of machinery), which can be further decomposed into mechanical components机械零件. 机械系统被分解为许多机构, 机构又能进一步被分解为机械零件 In this sense, the mechanical components are the fundamental elements of machinery. 从这种意义上讲, 机械零件是机械的基础。

      Mechanical Design Process 机械设计步骤 Product design requires much research and development不断探索和发展.
