WorksheetProcedureTime : 40 minutes Subject : English language Class: Grade 8 Language Focus : Listening Objectives:Students will learn to listen for specific information and details.Prior Knowledge: Students have learned some food names and simple past tense.Activity 1Warm upTime: 7 minutesObjective: To stimulate the students to concentrate on later English learning1. Teacher greets the students and makes a simple self introduction.l Good afternoon, everybody.T asks the Ss to practice a tongue twister.l Did you have a good time at the Spring Festival? Did you speak English during your holiday? I want to test your tongue.Activity 2Pre-Listening activitiesTime: 10 minutesObjective: to teach some new words appeared in the following study and give Ss a reason and arise their interest to go on listening.1. T: Do you like the game? Why ?S: I like it because it is …T tells the Ss to tell other our feelings and impressions of something, we need to use parts of our body to feel. Eg. mouth,ear,eye….Then we can tell others our feelings with some sense verbs---When we use nose to smell,we say something smells…We call smell, sound, feel,look, taste sense verbs. Play a small game---touch the nose and say smell.Play a game. Listen to the recording and when you hear the sense verb, touch parts of the body..2. Do Task1.l Circle the word you hear. (part1录音)l Add sense verbs before the words we circled.l Say something about the picture.3. Do Task 2.Show them some words chosen from the dialogue and ask Ss to guess what may the dialogue be about. The words are: cheese, fresh, party, airport, introduceSs discuss in groups. Activity 3While-Listening Time: 15 minutesObjective: To train the Ss to listen for specific information and details.1. Play the recording to ask Ss to check whether their guessing is right. And ask them to judge : How many people are there in the dialogue? What’s their relationship? Where are they? 2. Do Task 3. What present will you choose? Why? Discuss with you friends.Homework• Make a shopping list for your family .And try to tell us the reason . Do use the sense verbs.。
