This lesson is period 1. In book 1 students have already learned words and sentence structures about food. In book 2 they learned fruits and expressions about their likes and dislikes. So they are familiar with the topic of meals and it sets the foundation for this class. The lesson type is listening and speaking. Students will learn to describle the foods and drinks for dinner.1. Students AnalysisThe students in grade 4 are active and willing to imitate. Meanwhile they are intersted in learning and speaking English. They can leame an unknown word with the help of the known words and pictures. However, some students are afraid of speaking . so I will encourage them a lot to try also group members can help them.Part 2 Teaching aims & teaching important and difficult points analysisKnowledge aims:Be able to understand the new words in context and pronounce them correctly. Be able to read the dialogue with the correct pronunciation and intonation.Ability aims:Be able to use the sentence structures ”—What would you like (for…)? 一I'd like (I would like) some…,please.in situations.Be able to develop their listening \reading \speaking ability.Emotional aims:Be grateful to the people around them.(teaching aims are designed according to the New CurriculumStandard, teaching syllabus and teaching material analysis.)2.Teaching important and difficult points analysisTeaching important points:the new words: chicken,soup and vegetables. And the usage of sentence structures: What would you like (for-)? —I'd like (I would like) some—, please.Teaching difficult points: use the sentence structures "-What would you like (for…)? 一Fd like (I would like) some-,,please.n in situations.Part 3 Teaching methods and learning approaches analysisTask-based teaching method, students will be focus on the tasks and to get knowledge when finish them with appropriate pressure. Communicative teaching method, students will learn to develop friendship between teacher and other students. It also help to form a good class atmosphere.The learning approaches are Ss cooperating, Ss communicating, chant, listening, speaking, reading, practicingTeaching procedures analysisWarmming up:introduce the thanksgiving day and set the real situation. Encourage students to join thanksgiving day party which is the main task of this lesson. In this class students finish 4 tasks to join the party.PresentationIn task 1 students will review the words they learned before and present the new words: chicken,vegetalbes and soup, it can help them to make a good preparation for this class. With the real situation I ask students the main sentence structure: what would you like for dinner? I'd like some.... It helps students undcrstan how to apply the sentence structures in daily life.With inputting before listening, it's easy fbr students to understand the dialogue. As the main task to join the thanksgiving party,! set the mini scene:Mike won't join the party and lead students to Mike's house and find out what would Mike's family like fbr dinner.Practicestudents listen and imitate the dialogue sentence by sentence.In this way, ifs good fbr them to speak in the right pronunciation and intonation.1. Read the dialogue in various forms. Students are familiar with the important points.2. Students act the dialogue in different rules. I set different lever to encourage them to act it corrctly,loudly and read the dialogue with actions and emtions.ProductionLet students talk about what would they like at the party, (pair work). The sentences, bank will help them to make the new dailogue.Summary and homeworkCongratuate students to finish 4 tasks and can join the thanksgiving party. Encourage them to enjoy their dinner and say thank you for their parents.Homework: make their y dialogue of thanksgiving part and write it down.Part 5 Blackboard design analysisBlackboard design is brief and interesting including main sentence structures, students can know main important points clearly. On the other part I set the reward area. It can arouse students intersts to take part in the class.Part 6 Assessment analysisTo sum up,the design of my lesson has some shining points. Firstly, I use the situation teaching in the whole class. It can encourage students speak English in the real life. Secondly, task-based teaching can stimulate students5 interest in study. They are willing to atten the class activities.。
