国外影视作品也随着各国文化交流的紧密而源源不断涌入中国在中国，作为一种新兴和特殊的翻译模式，字幕翻译己经成为翻译不可或缺的一个组成部分，因此深层次地探讨影视字幕及其翻译显得格外必要无论是影视翻译实践，还是影视翻译的相关理论研究，我国都落后于西方国家我国现在影视翻译研究的不足与当前外语影视作品大量的引进已经形成了很大的矛盾，影视翻译亟缺相关理论指导本文以关联理论为基础分析了美国情景喜剧《老友记》的字幕翻译许多翻译学派的理论都能够指导字幕翻译，但是笔者认为关联理论是其中比较合适的一种解释字幕翻译的理论从关联角度看，翻译是推理并且需要联系上下文，其目标是获得最佳关联 “老友记”字幕准确，容易理解，这讲成为绝佳的例子来阐述最佳关联关键词：关联；字幕翻译；《老友记》IVAbstractFilm and television programs are a great communication channel as well as a window to know the world. And their functions on cultural transmission and become increasingly important. Foreign films and television works are continually swarming into China along with exchange in cultural exchange. In China，as a new special translation mode, subtitle translation has become an indispensable component element in translation. Therefore, it’s necessary to investigate profoundly film and television subtitle as well as translation of them. Both translation practice of film and practice or interrelated theoretical research, China falls behind western countries. Our country’s lacking in film and television translation research comes in contradictory with the introduction of large amounts of current foreign language film and television programs. And film and television translation needs theoretical research. This thesis makes a study into American sitcom Friends to analyze subtitle translation on the base of relevance theory. Theories from many translation schools can be used for subtitle translation, nevertheless the author deems that relevance theory is an appropriate theory in giving a light in subtitle translation. Some of the sitcoms turn out to be very influential and popular among the young people. Like “friends”, “vampire diaries”, ”supernatural” and “gossip girl”. Therefore the subtitling translation is beco。
