thecenturies.TheMiddleAges(fromthe5thtothe15thcentury)DuringtheMiddleAges,thepurposeofWesternartwasto teach people about Christianity.Thus,artists were notinterestedinpaintingrealisticscenes.Theirworkswereoftenprimitive and two-dimensional,and the main characterswere often made much larger than everyone else to showtheirimportance.Thisbegantochangeinthe13thcenturywithGiottodiBondone(1267-1337).Whilehispaintingsstillhad religious themes,they showed real people in a
