该学院是在钱伟长亲切关怀下成立的上海市高校中第一所计算机学院学院院长由著名计算机专家、中国工程院院士李三立教授担任1994 年，随着新上海大学的诞生，联合成立的计算机学院正式命名为上海大学计算机工程与科学学院原上海大学计算机应用系、原上海科技高等专科学校计算机系也一起并入学院以培养具有扎实的计算机科学理论基础、有一定创新能力和实践能力、能从事计算机硬件和软件的开发、设计和研制等工作的高级科技人才为目标学院设有一个计算机科学与技术本科专业，以及计算机应用技术、计算机软件与理论和计算机系统结构三个硕士学位授予点1990 年以来“计算机应用”学科连续4 次被上海市列为重点学科进行建设，计算机学科被学校列为“211 工程”重点发展学科全院师资力量雄厚，治学严谨， 拥有教授16 名(其中博士生导师6 名)，副教授 （含高工） 27 名，有 8 名教授担任了全国或上海市二级以上学术团体的领导职务学院每年招收本科生300 多名，硕士研究生100 多名，博士生、外国硕士留学生10 多名学院坚持教学与科研相结合的原则，围绕计算机系统集成的研究方向，积极开展网络与多媒体、高性能计算和容错计算、软件工程与理论、以及智能信息处理等领域的科学研究。

学院成立以来，已完成或正在完成国家级和省部级项目达100 多项在上海市科委的支持下，由李三立院士主持完成的运行速度（峰值）达4500 亿次 /秒的集群高性能计算机自强2000，标志着我院在并行计算机研究方面达到了国内的先进水平该项成果获2001 年上海市科技进步一等奖截止到2002 年底，学院共获国家、省、部（市）级科研成果奖300 多项此外，学院还积极开展与国内外的学术交流学院积极开展教学改革，努力使教学计划、课程设置、教学内容以及教学手段与方法适应学科发展和人才培养的需求；积极开展了“面向21 世纪计算机学科教学内容和课程体系改革”近年来，新增“电子商务” 、 “计算机安全与保密技术”、 “ACM 程序设计”等专业选修课10 门先后出版了各类教材30 余本为培养学生的创新能力和实践能力，学院鼓励学生参加各项科技竞赛，参与教师的科研项目和柯达公司组织的数字图像创意活动等学院连续几年组队代表上海大学参加ACM国际大学生程序设计竞赛，并在全国大学生“挑战杯”科技作品比赛中获奖学院注重学生的个性教育，对强化班的学生或自学能力特别强的学生单列计划，因人施教学院培养的学生主要去向为上海地区或面向全国择业。

毕业生主要从事于计算机软硬件的系统设计开发、销售维护、信息服务及其它行业的计算机管理应用工作部分学生选择继续攻读硕士、博士学位或出国深造二号 黑体正文汉字五号宋体数字 英文五号Times New Roman 正文版面: 上下页边距2.5cm 左右页边距2.0cm 单倍行距2 Introduction School of computer Engineering and Science, University of Shanghai, was founded in 1985 through incorporating two former departments from the faculty of the Department of Computer Engineering at Shanghai University of Technology and the Department of Computer Science at Shanghai University of Science and Technology. The school was established under the solicitude of the president WeiChang Chien. With the naissance of the new Shanghai University in October 1994, the two departments of computer formally united to a new school named as School of Computer Engineering and Science. The Department of Computer Application of former Shanghai University and the Department of Computer of Technical School of Science and Technology of Shanghai joined the new school as well. The Program of Computer Science and Technology includes studies of hardware, software, and systems, which relate the design, development and application of computers. The aim of the program is to provide students with a solid foundation not only in computer science but also in computer engineering. This includes a good understanding of both knowledge in computer science and ability in practice. The students will be well equipped to work in the growing field of information Technology. Thus they can keep pace with these rapidly changing areas. The school sets one program: the computer application program for undergraduates, and provides one degree program: Bachelor of engineering. The school also offers the following master degree programs: Masters of computer application technology, computer software and theory, computer architecture and organization. Since 1990, the computer application subject has been developed as one of the key subjects in Shanghai for four times. Furthermore, the computer application program was listed as one of the key developing subjects of the “211 project“ of Shanghai University, supported by the State Ministry of Education. There are, in school, 16 professors (among them are 6 Ph.D. supervisors), 27 associate professors, 60 lecturers and a number of affiliated research staff. There are 8 people who take up academic leadership in the country and/or in Shanghai. More than 300 undergraduates and 100 graduate students are enrolled as full-time students each year. Now the school also enrolls 10 Ph.D. students and 10 international master students every year. The school pursues to combine teaching with research.
