IntroductionDead Poets Society is an educational novel written by American writer N.H Klibomn who wrote it in 1989. This is the story of students who study at Welton Academy. There are four pillars in Welton Academy: “Tradition,” “Honor,” “Discipline,” and “Excellence”(Klibomn 4). A group of innocent and well-bred students have boring classes like ascetic monks, and the whole school is isolated and inanimate. Fortunately the new English teacher Mr. Keatings coming like a bolt of red lightning flashed across the sky at midnight which breaks the original life style of the school. Whats more, Mr. Keating leads his students to join the Dead Poets Society which represents romance and passion, and these students often get together in a mysterious cave. Under such an atmosphere, the young students seem to find romance and passion belonging them. When his father Mr. Perry found that Neil managed to act A Midsummer Nights Dream(Shakespeare, 1600) he was very mad at his son, because in Mr. Perrys eyes acting was a waste of time. In order to throttle Neils dream of acting, Mr. Perry tried to withdraw Neil from Welton. Actually his arrangement intensified the contradiction further and accelerated the death of Neil. Faced with fathers control, Neil was weak to revolt, so he killed himself extremely with full of disappointment and despair. Absolutely we can see Neil was miserable in his short life. He couldnt choose school; he couldnt insist his dream; even so he couldnt control his
