CRICOS Provider Codes QLD 00219C NSW 01315F VIC 01624D OoR11 0011 Ver 4 Page 1 of 3 CQUNIVERSITY AUSTRALIA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS EXPLANATORY NOTES AWARDS ITEM 1 CQUniversity administers a number of awards to enable full time students to proceed to a doctorate or a research masters Please indicate by marking the appropriate box es for the award for which this application is being made Research Higher Degree Stipend Scholarships Australian Postgraduate Awards APAs are available to domestic and international applicants Australian Postgraduate Awards Industry APA I are available to domestic and international residents when advertised CQUniversity Postgraduate Research Awards UPRAs are available to domestic and international residents The Indigenous Australian Postgraduate Research Award IAPRA is available to Australians of indigenous descent The Women s Equal Opportunity Postgraduate Research Award WEOPRA is available to a woman who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident who has experienced a break in study Strategic Research Scholarships SRS are available to applicants studying in an area identified by CQUniversity as one of its priority research areas Postgraduate Research Tuition Fee Paying Scholarships international candidates only International Postgraduate Research Scholarships IPRS International Postgraduate Research Award IPRA Tuition fee paying scholarships may cover some living allowances Contact sgr cqu edu au or go to http www cquedu au research future candidates cholarships for further information APPLICANT S DETAILS ITEM 2 Please provide complete and accurate details so that you may be contacted in order to clarify any aspect of your application All correspondence including an offer will be sent to the mailing address listed It is the applicant s responsibility to advise the University through the School of Graduate Research of any changes to details contained in this section ADMISSION STATUS ITEM 3 An offer of award is made on the condition that an awardee has been made an offer of admission or is a continuing candidate as a research higher degree candidate at CQUniversity A scholarship offer will not progress without these criteria being met CITIZENSHIP RESIDENCY STATUS ITEM 4 Certified documentary evidence of citizenship or residency status must be attached to the application Reference should be made to the eligibility criteria stated in the above section Awards OTHER AWARDS ITEM 5 Current or past recipients of postgraduate awards or similar funding from the Australian Government its statutory authorities or other granting agencies must provide details of this information in order to assist the selection committee to determine eligibility status FIELD OF RESEARCH ITEM 6 Allocation of awards would normally be aligned with the University s areas of research strength The title of your research provides an indication of the intended area of research QUALIFICATIONS ITEM 7 In order to assess eligibility for these awards certified copies of original academic transcripts including an explanation of grading must be attached to the application Applicants cannot assume that documents submitted to the University as part of previous applications and or for official purposes are readily available to those members of staff assessing the current application Those applicants whose qualifications need to be assessed as Honours I equivalent should attach additional information which demonstrates this e g copies of examiners reports from Masters degrees It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all necessary documents are certified complete and clearly able to be read and assessed Please do not include secondary qualifications RESEARCH EXPERIENCE ITEM 8 This section should include any additional information which might further demonstrate the applicant s research potential Applicants who may fall into one or more of the following categories are particularly encouraged to provide any additional information in support of their application those who have had their research published in a peer revised outlet e g a journal or book those who have a protected design or software those who have a recorded performance exhibition or creative painting drawn or sculpted work It is expected a statement of contribution regarding the applicant s research experience of no more than 200 words be provided In particular applicants who have co authored publications must provide a statement of contribution It is also expected applicants will include their CRICOS Provider Codes QLD 00219C NSW 01315F VIC 01624D OoR11 0011 Ver 4 Page 2 of 3 curriculum vitae and description of relevant research other work experience relevant to the application EVIDENCE OF MOTIVATION ITEM 9 The applicant must provide a statement of research philosophy This statement should include Proposed research questions Area of interest and why it is of interest Intent in undertaking a research higher degree and Long term career goals The statement
